BIO: Laszlo Petruska D.M.D
Dr. Laszlo Petruska had received his D.M.D. degree with “summa cum laude” in 1988 from a prestigious dental school in Hungary. Shortly after he immigrated to the U.S. and began his licensing process. He passed his boards in the top 2% of the nation.
He has been practicing in Santa Barbara and Ventura for 16 years. In his Ventura office he specializes in removable prosthodontics and related implant dentistry.
He owned his own dental laboratory, took courses from well known denture specialists like Dr. Shipmon and Dr. Massad. He attended countless seminars and courses, and has collected and studied all available manuals, books, VHS tapes, DVD’s related to removable prothodontics dating back all the way to the fifties. Over the years he’s developed or modified many procedures in denture construction such as impression techniques, post dam design, lab communication, improving the natural esthetics, fit and chewing efficiency of partial and complete dentures.
Dr. Petruska is a clinical consultant to the American Tooth Industries in Oxnard, and offers continuing education seminars for dental technicians, dental assistants and dentists on dentures and simplified implant techniques.
Dr. Petruska’s simple, practical guidelines and methods can easily be implemented for any small and large dental laboratory. This lecture is guaranteed to simplify your work, reduce your frustrations, the number of resets and remakes. This lecture is recommended to both removable and crown-bridge technicians, since the esthetic principals discussed could be and should be implemented in fixed prothodontics as well.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
At this hands-on lecture Dr. Petruska will refresh and improve your knowledge about:
• Anatomical and communication landmarks on the edentulous model
• Different post dam designs for the upper denture for optimal suction
• Articulation of the stone models for optimal esthetics and occlusion
• Construction of the base plate and wax rim, using the Alma- Gauge, the Anatomical Rim Former, the Alameter and their importance in lab communication and denture esthetics
• Upper anterior denture teeth and set up: size, shape, shade, and easy to understand guidelines for natural looking esthetic denture set up
• Lower anterior set up is also important to avoid the “fake denture look” and absolutely essential for the stability of the lower denture
• Posterior denture teeth and set up: size, cuspal inclinations, occlusion and articulation for optimal fit and chewing efficiency
• Borders, anatomical wax up for optimal esthetics, comfort and chewing power
• Rearticulation of finished dentures, checking and adjusting the base and the denture teeth
